CLARK COUNTY STATISTICS
Clark County Economic Profile

About the Corporation:

The Clark County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) was incorporated in 1990 as a non-profit 501 (c)(6) agency to serve as a countywide focal point and resource center for all municipalities, businesses, organizations, and residents.  Its vision is to diversify, reinforce, and build the economic base of Clark County.  The goals of the corporation are to:

  • Promote economic development through industrial and commercial development, tourism, job creation and retention, and job training;
  • Provide direction and coordination for economic development;
  • Offer technical assistance to towns, villages, cities, and other organizations with applications, financing, and completion of projects;
  • Research available resources and establish a central source for information and assistance to support economic development; and
  • Maintain working relationships with public and private entities that support and promote economic development in Clark County.

The service area of the corporation includes all of Clark County and the entire corporate city limits of Abbotsford and Colby and the Village of Unity.

Membership of the corporation is comprised of:

  1.  General Public - Residents;
  2. Corporate/Business - Corporations, businesses, or financial institutions;
  3. Non-profit Groups - Non-profit service groups, chambers of commerce or economic development organizations; and
  4. Political Entities - Cities, villages, townships, or governmental units.

The common link between all members is that they support the aims of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and wish to improve the economic climate within the county.

During the past sixteen years, the CCEDC has been working vigorously with all components of the county to accomplish the goals originally established for the corporation.  The CCEDC is busy seeking and providing information on local recreational opportunities and creating personalized packets of materials for those wishing to expand or start a small business.  Staff and board members are serving on various committees to include those focusing on main street revitalization, workforce development, and land use. Comprehensive community profiles along with industrial site and available building inventories have been completed for each city and village in the county. They are posted on the CCEDC's website for viewing or sent to businesses and residents interested in a particular community.  This information is updated at least one time per year.  Trainings and workshops have been and will continue to be offered to employers as well as the general community on a wide range of topics relating to economic development.  Providing information, assistance, and referral to questions being asked by our employers and residents is a very important responsibility of the CCEDC.
