Willard

The first Slovenian settlers arrived in Willard around 1907 and will be celebrating its centennial in July 2007. In its early days, Willard was considered a logging area. Throughout the years, the land was converted and used for agricultural purposes.

Willard is widely known for its annual Polka Fest, which is held the third weekend in June. People return year after year to attend what is considered by many as the best polka festival in the Midwest. Willard is also known for Beaver Days, which is held the 3rd weekend in March.  Enjoy the new Settlers Park created through the Historical Society in remembrance of the early settlers.

Numerous facilities enhance the area such as Rock Dam and Mead Lake, good fishing and recreational camping lakes within 7 miles of Willard. Snowmobile and ATV trails lead into Willard during recreational seasons. The Willard area and to the west along the Clark County forest provides excellent deer and bear hunting during both bow and arrow and gun season.

Willard is a small community with friendly people who welcome you to come and enjoy what they have to offer.
